Brewer: Heineken |

|
One of the best selling imported beers in the US, Heineken continues to maintain a cult following. It's a very hoppy beer with a distinctive dry, herbal somewhat minty finish. It once was fashionable to add a lime to it, maybe it cut some of the hoppiness. According to the official site, Heineken was first brewed in 1873 and introduced into the US in the 1880's. The founding brewer, Gerard Adriaan Heineken used a bottom- fermenting brewing process and A-yeast that gives the beer a distinctive European taste. |
