The Colonial Tavern is an Awesome Bar, with Great Bartenders, and the most Beautiful Waitresses I have ever seen!! I hope my travels lead me back there again soon!

Arch Di Peppe and I stopped in for lunch while delivering copies of Front Porch Magazine. Great sandwiches and fab fries! We had a Reuben and a burger, and a nice chat with other bar patrons. It's a very Cheers-like atmosphere. Cold beer to boot!

The Colonial Tavern is hands down one of the very best of the best in Fredericksburg.
Where else can you find such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, various nightly entertainment that truly DOES offer something for everyone; with food that is simply sublime? DO NOT skip over the appetizers, as there is not ONE item on this list that is to be missed! The beer battered mushrooms, petite cordon bleu, even the irish soda bread alone is worth the trip. Every single meal we've ordered has been exceptional, with stand outs like the General Meagher's Gaelic Steak, the Tavern's Own Pot Roast...ALL of it is expertly prepared and a delight to the senses.
Our sincere thanks to the Colonial Tavern for so many wonderful evenings and mouth watering memories!

My lady friend and I stopped by last Saturday night for an after dinner drink. We walked in on the USO party! I must say, that was the most classy and jovial celebration I have ever witnessed in my 13 years in Fredericksburg. Had I known ahead of time about the costume party, I would have been there all night -- with all of my friends and neighbors! The staff was warm and helpful, the band was perfect, the reenactors dressed to perfection in their 1940's costumes and the atmosphere memorable. I certainly hope that you will have another of these dances -- and that you get the word out! Thanks for a magical evening.

Love the irish bands that play there on Friday nights. Great hearty food and really friendly staff. It feels like you are at home when you get there. Can't wait to go back!
