Over 60 years ago, Ike Sewell opened the first Pizzeria Uno and created a Chicago tradition that has now gone nationwide. The deep dish pizza was born in 1943 and quickly became enormously popular with Chicagoans. The success was so great that another restaurant was opened across the street to accommodate customers. In 1979, Aaron Spencer, the current chairman of Uno’s, worked with Ike Sewell to expand the restaurant into other parts of the country. The rest is history.
Originally just a pizzeria, Uno’s eventually developed a new menu to include everything from pastas to steaks along with their signature “dish”. They also took on a new name and became Uno Chicago Grill. With an expanded menu, Uno’s has quickly developed into a versatile and casual dining restaurant making it a perfect place for family outings or as a happy hour hangout.
Uno Chicago Grill is not just about pizza anymore. Their expanded menu offers some tasty alternatives. There pasta choices include Chicken Portobello Penne and Shrimp Scampi Vermicelli. For meat eaters, there is everything from New York Strip Steak to Baby Back Ribs. Uno’s also offers a number of seafood dishes and large portion salads.
If you are looking for a great place to meet for cocktails and appetizers then Uno Chicago Grill is a fabulous choice. Uno’s has a number of specialty cocktails and a large selection of bottled and draft beers. They also have special prices, during happy hours, on their appetizers that range from Shrimp & Crab Fondue to Pizza Skins.
Uno Chicago Grill currently has over 200 locations across the country.
