Toasts
Many of you may have participated in the annual Guinness
toast event where at a specified time at local bars and taverns throughout the
world everyone raises their glass and toasts together. At each location someone
is designated to prepare and say a toast. The term "Toast" has been
traced back to the 17th century in England where it was customary by ladies of
the time to add a piece of toast to their wine to augment the flavor.
It would be hard to imagine that even further in the past people didn't raise
their steins to entertaining, poetic quotes and limericks. We currently
